Is parking in a handicap spot a moving violation?

Does it count as a moving violation if I get a ticket for parking in a handicap spot? I recently broke my foot and have been using handicap parking occasionally to make it easier to get around, but I’m worried about getting points on my license.

No, parking in a handicap spot is not a moving violation.
However, you can be fined for this kind of offense. If you get a ticket for parking in a handicap spot without the proper license plates or disability parking placard on display, you could be charged a fine of $50 to $700 or more, depending on which state you live in.
If you falsely display a disability placard or license plate, you could face even bigger consequences. In
Florida
, for example, you could be charged with a second degree misdemeanor and spend up to six months in jail for this type of offense.
Parking tickets won’t go on your driving record, but did you know that any moving violations that you get can affect your
