Is I-55 in Illinois a toll road?

I live in Southern Illinois just outside of St. Louis, and I want to take a road trip up to Chicago for a hockey game. I’d rather not take a toll road if I can help it, but I’m fairly certain I have to take I-55 all the way. Are there any stretches of I-55 in Illinois that are toll roads?

Nothing is quite as exhilarating as a Blues-Blackhawks matchup, and the drive isn’t all that bad either. Luckily, I-55 in Illinois is not a toll road. Unless you’re staying in a suburb, trying to avoid traffic, or plan on going outside the city proper, you shouldn’t hit any toll roads.
Small stretches around I-55, including I-355, I-294, I-94, and I-80 have tolls, but again, this shouldn’t affect you if you’re simply headed toward the United Center in Chicago for a hockey game.
