Is a battery covered under the Chevrolet warranty?

The last few times I’ve fired up my Chevy vehicle, it feels like it’s having trouble turning over. I tested the battery and it seems as though it’s getting a bit weak, even after charging it. Will the Chevy warranty cover my battery?

Sorry to hear about your battery issues. Fortunately, the 3-year, 36,000-mile Chevy basic warranty covers your battery. While battery performance is generally considered wear and tear, a new battery should last at least three years, which means that the issue is almost definitely with the battery.
If you have a hybrid vehicle or an electric vehicle, you get significantly more coverage—your battery is protected from defects for up to 8 years or 100,000 miles.
If you ever have to pay for a new battery, expect to budget about $200 to $500. In this case, download the
