How to do a burnout in an automatic?

I was so proud when I bought my sports car, and I wanted to show it off to my friends by doing a burnout. It’s an automatic, though, and I couldn’t get it to work. Is there a way to burnout in an automatic?

It’s only natural to want to show your new car to your friends, and with a sports car, what better way to do that than with a burnout? But not everyone knows how to do a burnout in an automatic.
To do a burnout with an automatic transmission, follow these steps:
  • Put the car in drive.
  • Press the footbrake while revving the engine.
  • Release the footbrake.
This should cause your wheels to spin, but the duration of your burnout will depend on both your car’s horsepower and the quality of your tires—which, you should note will be significantly damaged by this burnout.
In addition to tire damage, doing burnouts can also cause your car to overheat, wear out your brakes, and damage your transmission—all of which can lead to very costly repair bills. And that’s all assuming you don’t lose control and total your car.
