How reliable is a Mitsubishi Outlander?

Are Mitsubishi Outlanders reliable cars? I’m surprising my husband with a new car but I want to make sure that whatever I buy will last for a long time and won’t need tons of repairs.

 is considered to be pretty reliable and lasts an average of 200,000 to 220,000 miles. The average annual cost of ownership is $519, which is quite low!
Of course, every car will need repairs eventually. The most common issues with the Outlander include:
  • Premature brake wear
  • Air conditioning issues
  • Transmission failure
Some of these problems are more common in specific model years, so be sure to research different years before you choose your Outlander.
