I’m studying for my driving test. One day I noticed that one of the intersections in my town had a flashing red light, but I wasn’t driving. I’m not sure what this means. How do you react to a flashing red light?

If you’ve never seen a flashing
red light
before, you may feel a bit confused when you come across one, but don’t be. You must react to a flashing red traffic light the same way you would a stop sign:- Come to a complete stop at the white line.
- Look both ways for pedestrians, cyclists, and other cars.
- Only proceed when the coast is clear.
Keep in mind that cars driving perpendicular to your intersection may only have a flashing yellow light, which means that they won’t stop. Proceed with caution at all times.
