How much does a 12V car battery weigh?

About how much should my 12V car battery weigh? I need to replace my battery and I read online that I should get one that weighs the same as my old battery but I’m not entirely sure how to do that.

Typically, a 12V lead-acid
car battery
will weigh around 41 pounds. It’s true that you should try to get a battery that weighs the same as your old battery. The weight of a car battery often has an effect on your car’s performance.
Since you already know the voltage and general size of your old battery, you should be able to replace it without worrying too much about the weight. Most 12V batteries will weigh roughly the same amount, so you shouldn’t have any problems if you select a 12V battery that looks to be approximately the same size as your old battery.
