How many cylinders does a Subaru Forester have?

What sort of engine is in a Subaru Forester? A four-cylinder? A V6? Is it turbocharged?

Those are all great questions. All 2023
Subaru Forester
models are powered by the same 2.5-liter flat-four-cylinder engine that generates 182 horsepower and can tow 1,500 pounds. A continuously variable automatic transmission routes the engine’s power to Subaru’s trademark all-wheel-drive system.
The Forester is a
compact crossover SUV
that has been manufactured by Subaru since 1997. Over the years, the engine has been swapped out. For example, some were available turbocharged, and others were not. However, they have always been four-cylinder engines—a V6 model was never made available.
In fact, if you’re looking for a Subaru crossover or SUV with a V6 engine, you’ll be sorely disappointed. For 2023, Subaru will not be making a six-cylinder SUV, but the 2019 Outback 3.6R Touring and 2019
Outback 3.6R Limited
come with a flat six-cylinder engine.
