How long is 60 miles driving 40 miles per hour?

I need to drive to my brother’s college graduation. He goes to college 60 miles away, but I have to take a lot of two-lane highways to get there. If I average 40 miles per hour, how long will it take to drive 60 miles?

That’s amazing that you’re attending! I’m sure your brother will appreciate it.
To go 60 miles if you’re driving 40 miles per hour, it will likely take about an hour and a half.
But just like when you drive anywhere, you should probably leave an additional 15 minutes early to counteract factors out of your control. Some of these include:
  • Congestion
  • Limited parking
  • Construction zones
  • How much you drive on the highway versus city driving
