How long does a landlord have to replace a refrigerator?
I told my landlord two and a half weeks ago that the refrigerator in my unit was broken. It’s been exactly 17 days, and I am still without a refrigerator! Isn't there some sort of time restriction for appliance repairs? How quickly is the landlord required to replace a refrigerator?

Good question! Like pretty much anything to do with landlord and tenant laws, the specific amount of time a landlord is allotted to perform necessary maintenance and repairs varies depending on what state you live in. Local municipalities and regional governments also can pass laws regarding this matter. So, the exact rules are going to be a little bit different everywhere you go.
In general, though, **landlords have between 10 and 25 days to make required repairs. The first thing you want to do is check the local government’s rows on the matter. If the maximum time limit has already been exceeded, and the landlord is still failing or refusing to repair the fridge, you may need to take the matter to small claims court since your landlord will be in breach of contract.
Hopefully, just reminding your landlord and showing them that you are not willing to drop the issue, will be enough to get them moving and your fridge repaired. Keep a copy of any communications between you and your landlord just in case the matter does have to go before a court.
