How long after painting your car can you wash it?

How long should I wait after painting my car to wash it? I just got it painted, but my girlfriend’s parents are visiting tomorrow. I want the car to look as nice as possible when I pick them up.

Depending on your paint job, you’ll probably need to wait somewhere between 30 to 90 days before washing it. At least, that’s what most body shops recommend.
When you get your car
repainted
, you’ll need to give it time to cure. Otherwise, you run the risk of scratching or damaging your paint with cloths or other cleaning supplies. If your car gets really dusty, you can try rinsing it with plain water instead of giving it a full wash.
