How far can a Honda Civic go on empty?

I’ve never run out of gas in my car, but I’ve always wondered. How far can a Honda Civic go on empty?

There’s no across-the-board answer for how far a
Honda Civic
can go on empty. Technically, once your gas tank is empty, you won’t be able to go anywhere, but how far you can go as your gas level nears that point will depend on your fuel economy and the driving conditions.
There’s an easy way to estimate how far you can go once your low fuel level warning light comes on.
This indicator light is designed to turn on once the system detects your gas tank is about 10% to 15% full.
If you know your gas tank capacity, you can take that number by 10% to figure out how many gallons of gas are likely left in your fuel tank. Then, you can multiply the number of gallons by your vehicle’s estimated mpg to estimate your range.
Suppose you had a 2019 Honda Civic with a 14.8-gallon fuel tank capacity. If you’re left with just 10% of your fuel capacity in the tank, you have just under 1.5 gallons. If your current driving conditions are giving you the average city fuel economy of about 30 mpg, you could estimate you have nearly 45 miles to make it to a gas station once your low fuel light turns on.
Hopefully you don’t have to reach that point, though! While you’re thinking about your Honda Civic, are you sure that it’s protected by the right amount of
car insurance
coverage?
