How do you use the tire pressure monitoring system on a Toyota Avalon?
Something seems a little off with my car and I think I need to check the tire pressure. How do I use the tire pressure monitoring system on my Toyota Avalon?

If the Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) in your Toyota Avalon senses seriously low pressure in one of your tires, the low tire pressure icon will appear in the instrument display and you’ll see a warning message in the Multi-Information Display.
If the indicator light stays on, check all the tires and refill, repair, or replace any that are below the proper pressure.
Rotating tires, changing tire pressures, or switching tire sizes could trigger the warning and you might want to reset the system.
To reset the system, do the following:
- Make sure the tire pressures are correct.
- Turn the engine on and press and hold the reset button (you’ll find it low and to the right of the steering wheel on the instrument panel).
- Hold the button down until the TPMS indicator light in the instrument panel blinks slowly three times.
- Wait for several minutes with the engine running, to allow the system to record each tire’s pressure, then turn the engine off.
If the light comes on and blinks when you start the car, something may not be working properly, and you should take it to a Toyota dealership to be inspected.
If you replace one of the original wheels or pressure sensors, you’ll need to have a Toyota dealership register it.
