How can I unlock the steering wheel on a Toyota Rav4? My parents are gone for the weekend. It’s the first time since I got my license that they’re letting me drive their Toyota. I don’t want to make them nervous by asking, but the steering wheel is locked!

Congrats on getting the car to yourself! Thankfully, unlocking the steering wheel is very simple. All you have to do is:
- Insert your key into the ignition
- Start the engine
- Turn the wheel to the right
- The wheel should unlock
If this does not work, turn the wheel to the left and repeat until it unlocks.
To avoid this happening again, don’t move the steering wheel after you’ve taken the key from the ignition. The steering wheel locks as an
anti-theft
