How do you stop a car window crack from spreading?

There's a crack on the back window of my Camry. Is there anything I can do to stop it from spreading other than get it replaced?

“It can be difficult to stop a crack once it starts, but you could try fixing it yourself.
You can purchase a window crack kit online for around $10 that will give you the materials you need to begin. Before starting, be sure to examine the shape of the crack as what you use to repair it depends on the shape.
If it is a star-shaped crack, you can use crack filler that is standard viscosity. If you have a line crack, you can use a low viscosity filler.
From there, complete the following steps:
  • Carefully clean the window with Windex or ammonia.
  • From the crack kit, use the plunger to help push the crack filler into the damaged area.
  • Go slowly and check regularly from the inside to see if the liquid is penetrating the crack.
  • Do the same from the inside of the window. Use the mylar pieces from the crack kit to assist.
  • Leave in the sun for a few hours before driving so it hardens.
Once dried, check your work! If it seems to have fixed the crack, you should be good to go. If it doesn’t appear to have solved the problem, you may need to get your window professionally repaired or replaced.
