How do you replace a Ford Edge battery?
My car needed a jump two times already, so I think it’s time to have it changed out. I’d rather avoid the cost of a mechanic if I can. What’s the easiest way to replace a Ford Edge battery?

batteries can be helpful to keep a car going, but it’s typically a temporary measure. - Step 1: Park the car on a flat surface and turn it off.
- Step 2: Open the hood and locate the battery.
- Step 3: Disconnect the battery with a ratchet and socket to loosen the bolt on the negative terminal and remove the cable.
- Step 4: Loosen the bolt on the positive terminal and remove the positive cable from the battery. Isolate the positive cable so that it can’t touch any metal.
- Step 5: Remove the retaining bolt holding the battery in place.
- Step 6: Lift the battery straight out of the tray and replace it with your new battery.
- Step 7: Bolt in the new battery and connect the positive cable, then the negative cable.
- Step 8: Close your hood and test your car!
Hopefully, these steps will help you replace the battery in your Ford Edge. While battery replacement is a relatively easy piece of car maintenance, you can always have a mechanic do it for you for around $50. Most batteries only last from 3-5 years, so plan to avoid any frustrating moments with a dead battery.
