—it protects the car’s paint from external factors. You’ll need to look for three things when you pick out a car soap for ceramic coating: - Neutral pH level: pH-neutral formulas are effective yet gentle on ceramic coating. Too harsh of a car soap can leave swirl marks or even scratch the ceramic.
- No added wax: Waxes are typically used to add more lubrication and prevent scratching on the car’s surface, but they can build up on ceramic coatings. The wax can cause debris to stick to the car’s surface and clog the ceramic coating.
- Extra sudsy formula: The more suds, the better! Ceramic coating is strong, but it can still be scratched during a car wash. A super sudsy car soap helps the soap and mitt or cloth glide smoothly over the surface.
