How do you open the gas tank on a 2018 Ford Focus?
I recently purchased a 2018 Focus and am having trouble figuring out how the fuel filler door opens. How do you open the gas tank on a 2018 Ford Focus?

Great question! It can definitely be difficult getting used to how a new vehicle works. Seeing as there are two different fuel filler door designs for the 2018 Ford Focus—one that has a small upraised tab and one that does not—things could be a little confusing.
If your 2018 Ford Focus’ fuel filler door has a small upraised tab at the rear, open it by sticking two fingers underneath the tab and pulling outwards.
If your 2018 Ford Focus’ fuel filler does not have a tab, open it by pressing in on the rear center edge—upon being pressed, the door will automatically spring open.
Once you have the fuel filler door open, you’re all set to refuel. There is no gas cap to remove, as the 2018 Ford Focus uses a capless refueling system secured by a fuel valve.
This means you can simply stick the fuel nozzle into the fuel tank filler pipe (make sure it latches) and let it fill the tank. A 2018 Ford Focus only has a gas tank capacity of 12.4 gallons, which means refueling won’t take long.
When the tank is full, remove the fuel nozzle and firmly shut the fuel filler door to latch it.
