How do you open a Hyundai Sonata key fob?

My key fob for my Hyundai Sonata isn’t working as well as it used to. Do I need to buy a new one, or is there a way to open my key fob and replace the battery myself?

You can absolutely change your
Hyundai Sonata’s
 key fob battery yourself. It’s really simple, and it can save you some money on a key fob replacement. Just have your replacement battery ready and follow these steps:
  • Flip your key fob over and find the small metal button on the back
  • Press the button to release a metal key
  • Insert the metal key into the small keyhole and turn gently until the key fob pops apart
  • Gently lift the battery out of its housing and install the new one
  • Press the two halves of the key fob back together and re-insert the metal key
