How do you open a GMC Terrain key fob?
Over the years, I’ve done repair work on my cars and trucks, but now I’m staring down at a key fob, trying to figure out how to open it! I need to replace the battery. How do you open a GMC Terrain key fob?

key fob, aren’t actually as simple as they first look! Use this step-by-step guide to get started.Steps | How to open a GMC Terrain key fob (2018-2021) |

Step 1 | Depress the release button on the side of your fob and take out the emergency key. |
Step 2 | Look inside the fob. You will see an indentation in the middle, to the right of where the emergency key came out. Place a flat head screwdriver into this rectangle and gently twist to pop open the fob case. (Note: Be sure to hold the fob on the sides, so that it can pop apart.) |
Step 3 | Pull apart the fob with your fingers. |
Step 4 | Locate the old battery and remove it; replace with new battery, + side facing down; battery # CR2032. |
Step 5 | Click the fob back together and return the emergency key back into its slot. |
