Getting a bargain car rental is one key factor to keeping your costs low! The best way to get a good deal on your rental car is to compare the prices on aggregator sites first. This will give you an idea of how much you can expect to pay.
Once you find out which company is offering the lowest prices, double-check on their website to see if the price is lower for the same car!
Below are a few more tips to help you find the lowest price for your car rental:
- Compare weekly and daily rates as daily rates are sometimes lower.
- Don’t get upgrades since you can do everything on your phone (e.g., GPS and music)
- Book an economy car and you might get a complimentary upgrade if an economy car isn’t available
- Return the car with a full tank of gas so that you can choose where to fuel up and save, rather than paying the rental company rates.
- Check for discounts if you belong to any kind of organization.
- Skip insurance offered by the car rental if you already have car insurance (which many credit cards do!).
