How do you clean leather car seats naturally?

My older brother let me borrow his Audi while he was away on business, and he has these beautiful cream leather seats. Somewhere along the way, I got some smudges or stains on them, and I want to make sure they get cleaned before he comes back. I’m just not sure what to use! How do you clean leather seats naturally?

It’s really awesome to hear that you’re taking the time to take care of your brother’s car—I’m sure he’ll appreciate it. If you want to clean leather seats naturally, I’m happy to say that all you need is warm water and Castile soap.
Using a ratio of five parts water to one part soap, dampen a cloth with the solution and wipe down the surfaces. Don’t saturate the leather; too much water could pool in the seams and seep into the cushions, or even stain the leather. Wipe clean with a second damp cloth, and dry thoroughly with a towel.
You can also try ½ cup of olive oil and ¼ cup of vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the seat and let sit for five minutes and wipe. Again, be sure not to over saturate the seat. Although this mixture may smell a little odd, the olive oil will work to condition the leather and keep it looking new.
If you’re someone who frequently borrows or rents vehicles, you may want to consider
non-owner car insurance
which can often be 10% cheaper than a standard policy and provide you with liability coverage if you end up in an accident and the owner’s insurance can’t cover all the damages. With the
Jerry
app, you can find the non-owner policy that’s right for you—we’ll get you personalized quotes from top providers, so that all you need to do is pick the plan that works best for you.
Best of luck, and happy cleaning!
