How do you check the tire pressure in a 2020 Kia Sportage?

I just got a new Kia last summer, but now that it’s winter and the weather is getting cold I’m worried about its tires. I’m not sure where to find my tire sensor info, though. How do you check the tire pressure in a 2020 Kia Sportage?

Staying on top of tire pressure in the winter is a good call!
Fortunately, you can easily check the tire pressure on your
2020 Kia Sportage
by using the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) on the instrument panel. To view it, simply scroll through your info screen display by using the “mode” button on your steering wheel. Your TPMS diagram will show live psi readings of each tire and indicate when one is too low or too high.
While your Sportage’s TPMS may be convenient, it’s a good idea to always check your SUV’s tire pressure manually, too—especially since
cold weather can cause low tire pressure
.
The correct tire pressure for each wheel of your specific Sportage is indicated on the label in your driver door jamb. With this number in mind, follow these steps:
  • Remove the valve cap from the tire
  • Insert a
    tire pressure gauge
directly into the stem until it stops making a hissing noise, then check the reading
  • Add air using an air compressor or pump as necessary (or remove air using the pressure gauge)
  • Replace the valve cap once the pressure is correct
Normally, you’d want to check the psi on your spare tire, too. However, the 2020 Sportage doesn’t have a spare tire—it has a Tire Mobility Kit (TMK) instead—so once you’ve checked each tire, you’re ready to hit those winter roads with peace of mind again.
