How do you check the oil on a BMW X1?

How can I check the oil on my BMW X1? I’m worried that I have low oil because I’ve been hearing a weird sound when I start my car. My boyfriend told me that was a sign that I need to add more oil, but neither of us know how to check.

Some
BMW
models don’t have an oil dipstick, so checking the oil is a little more confusing. Thankfully, you can still check the oil level quite easily! Here are the steps you can follow to check the oil on a BMW X1 from the comfort of the driver’s seat:
  1. Turn on your car and let the engine run for about five minutes.
  2. Using either your steering wheel controls, scroll until you see the oil lamp icon. To select, press the BC button located at the end of your turn signal stalk.
  3. After that, you should see a clock icon appear on the screen. You’ll have to wait until the hands of the clock stop moving before you’ll be able to read your oil level.
  4. If the reading says MAX, your oil is full! If it says +1 or any other number, you’ll need to add more oil to your car.
If you feel comfortable doing so, you can add oil yourself. If not, you can take your BMW to a mechanic or service center to have them top off your oil.
While you’re checking your oil, take an extra minute to check out the
