How do you charge a trailer battery while driving?

I want to charge my trailer battery while I’m driving so that everything’s ready to go when I reach my destination. Can you charge a trailer battery while driving?

To charge a trailer battery while driving, connect the battery to your towing vehicle’s alternator with a seven-pin travel plug. Alternatively, you can use a DC to DC charger.
If you don’t have a huge budget, the seven-pin plug should suffice, but the charging is slow at best. A DC to DC charger, which runs about $150 to $250, is the better option if you want to
charge the battery more quickly

DC to DC chargers take a bit of wiring knowledge. That said, there are several tutorials available online.
Since it sounds like you’ll be doing some serious driving, make sure you have adequate car insurance for your vehicle and trailer.
