How do I turn off lane assist in a Toyota Highlander 2021?

I just got a brand new 2021 Toyota Highlander. For the most part, it’s great. But it has lane assist that drives me crazy. keep pressing the lane assist button but nothing happens. How can I turn off the lane assist in my Toyota Highlander?
