How do I set up Bluetooth in a 2010 Chevy Equinox?

I recently purchased a 2010 Chevy Equinox, but I’m having a bit of trouble setting up the Bluetooth system and pairing it to my phone. How do I do it?

If you have a Bluetooth-equipped 2010 Chevy Equinox, pairing your phone is surprisingly simple and should only take a minute or two. To set up Bluetooth in your Equinox, follow these steps:
  1. Press the Config button.
  2. Select Phone Settings.
  3. Select Bluetooth.
  4. Press Pair Device. A four-digit PIN should appear on the display.
  5. Enable Bluetooth on your phone and look for General Motors on the list of Bluetooth devices.
  6. Enter the four-digit PIN provided by the system into your phone.
  7. The system responds by saying that your phone has been successfully paired after the pairing process is complete.
  8. Repeat these steps to add additional phones or devices.
Unfortunately, you can’t listen to music on the 2010 Chevy Equinox, so you may need a
Bluetooth adapter
if that’s your goal.
