How do I reset the service light on my BMW 750Li?

Is there a way to reset the service light on my 2008 BMW 750Li? My husband took it to the mechanic for me, but the light is still on for some reason.

Yes, you can reset the service light on your
BMW 750Li
yourself! To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Insert your key and, without pressing the brake, press the START/STOP button.
  2. Wait until the service warning disappears from your display, then press and hold the odometer reset button on your dashboard.
  3. When three seconds have passed, you should see a yellow triangle with an exclamation point appear on the display. Continue holding the odometer reset button until this symbol disappears and is replaced by an oil can.
  4. Press and hold the BC button at the end of the windshield wiper control stalk to scroll through the options until you reach the service indicator light.
  5. Press the BC button once to select this option. Then, select Reset.
  6. Use the BC button to select Reset. You should see a small clock appear on your screen as your car resets the service light.
  7. When the light has successfully reset, you can turn your car off.
If you have any more problems with your service light, it might be a good idea to talk to your mechanic to see if there’s a problem with the sensor or an issue with your engine. Either way, it’s a good idea to get the problem fixed as soon as possible to avoid any potential damage to your vehicle.
