How do I remove the rear windshield wiper on my Toyota Highlander?

I want to replace my back windshield wiper. Is this something I can do myself? If so, how?

You can absolutely remove the wiper yourself! Here’s how:
  • Lift up the plastic cover at the base of the wiper arm and swing the hinged cover towards the left side of the car.
  • Lift the wiper arm off of the back window until it sticks upright.
  • Turn the wiper blade away from the arm until the bar in the middle of the blade comes out of the C-shaped socket on the wiper arm.
  • Pull the blade off.
Whether you’re replacing your wiper due to damage or just performing some
basic maintenance work
, you’ll want to be sure to get the right kind of blade to replace it. You can tell your local auto body shop the make and model of your car, and they should be able to find the part that you need.
Having functional windshield wipers is an important part of keeping your car safe. Another way to stay secure while driving is by having good car insurance. The
