How do I play music through Bluetooth in a 2011 BMW?
I just bought a used 2011 BMW 335i. It’s an amazing car despite being more than ten years old. There’s just one problem. I can’t figure out how to get Bluetooth working! I need my tunes to get through my commute, and I can’t handle drive time radio at all. Could you help me out?

We definitely understand the frustration of not having your Bluetooth working! Here is how to play music through Bluetooth in your 2011 BMW:
- Look at the screen in your car to make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device
- Navigate to the main menu if you’re not there already
- Select multimedia (not the Bluetooth option, strangely)
- Under “Manage wireless devices”, select connections
- If you haven’t added your phone, add it now and follow the instructions to pair it with your car. After pairing, navigate back to “Manage wireless devices”
- Select your device, then press the options button
- Click “configure device”, then check the box next to audio
- Test it out with the audio streaming service of your choice. You should now be connected
If you have an aftermarket infotainment screen or radio, you’ll want to consult its manual or contact the manufacturer for help. But with an OEM stereo installed in any 2011 BMW, these instructions should get your music playing.
