Sit in the driver’s seat with the driver’s side door open. Close all other doors.
Begin with the key out of the ignition.
Within 5 seconds, insert and remove the key from the ignition twice without turning the key.
Within 40 seconds, close then open the driver’s side door twice and insert and remove the key from the ignition without turning it.
Within 40 seconds, close then open the driver’s side door twice and insert the key into the ignition, leaving it there.
Close the driver’s side door, and turn the ignition to on then off without starting the engine. Remove the key from the ignition.
Within 3 seconds, the doors should automatically lock then unlock to indicate you are in programming mode. Repeat steps 1 through 6 if that’s not the case.
Within 40 seconds of entering programming mode, press and hold the new key fob’s lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds. Release.
Press and hold the lock button for 2 seconds. The doors should automatically lock and unlock to indicate the key was programmed successfully.
If the doors lock and unlock twice, the key was not programmed successfully, and you need to repeat the two steps above.
Open the driver’s side door to exit programming mode. Then, test your new key!
