How do I open the gas tank on my 2017 Jeep Renegade?

I recently bought a used 2017 Jeep Renegade and I can’t figure out how to open the gas tank. Where did they hide the release lever?

To open the gas tank on your 2017
Jeep Renegade
, you’ll need to get out of your vehicle. Make sure that your doors are unlocked, then press on the exterior fuel tank door. When you do this, the door should spring open, revealing the gas cap underneath and giving you access to your gas tank.
While many vehicles do have a fuel door release lever, the Renegade is one of many newer vehicles that are not equipped with this feature. Instead, your fuel door locks when the rest of your doors do (and unlocks when the doors unlock). This means that no one will be able to access your gas tank without a key. Plus, you won’t have to pull a lever inside your vehicle to release the fuel door!
If pressing on the fuel door doesn’t work, however, this could indicate a problem with your vehicle. In this case, be sure to visit a mechanic soon—before you run out of gas.
