How do I open the gas tank on a Kia Sorento 2022?
This may be a silly question, but I’m a brand new driver and my parents bought me a 2022 Kia Sorento as a gift for getting my license, so I don’t know my way around the car yet. I haven’t had to get gas in my car and I don’t know how to open the little gas door. How does the gas tank open?

Congrats on getting your driver’s license and on the new car, what an exciting time! Also, this is not a silly question, lots of people get stumped by the gas tank door!
To open the gas tank on a
Kia Sorento
2022, you’ll need to pull the fuel filler door release lever which is found inside the vehicle near the floor of the driver’s seat. This should pop open the little gas door. Then, you’ll need to remove the fuel filler cap by turning it counterclockwise until it unscrews all the way. If it’s not attached to your vehicle, be sure you store it in a safe place while you fill your tank with the
recommended gas for your vehicle
. Once the tank is full, return the fuel filler cap to its place and turn it clockwise until you feel or hear it click into place. Then simply close the gas tank door again and you’re off! View full answer
