How do I move furniture without a car?

I’m moving to an apartment just down the street, but I don’t have a car. Is there a way I can move furniture without one? I figured I’d just carry my boxes there.

Hopefully, your move goes smoothly! Here are some tips to move your furniture without a car:
  • Break it down: Most furniture can be disassembled. However, older furniture may have large segments that cannot be broken down.
  • Find something with wheels: Whether it’s a wagon, a dolly, or a pallet jack, there are plenty of rentable options that you can use to bring your furniture to your new home.
  • Ask a friend for help: If it’s not far, you and a buddy can carry your furniture down the street. Even better if your friend has a vehicle to transport some of the heavier stuff.
  • Rent a

Unfortunately, most public transit authorities do not allow you to move your furniture on public transportation.
