How do I get my parents off of my bank account?

I’m over 18 years old and I want to get my parents off of my bank account. I have a job and my own car and I’m sick of them micromanaging my money. How do I get my parents off of my bank account?

To get your parents off of your bank account, you’ll need to visit a branch of your bank. Show them your identification and request for your parents to be removed from your account. You can also ask for all of your money in the form of a bank draft and close the account altogether.
Keep in mind: If your account is set up so that you and your parents have joint ownership of the bank account, you may need to bring them with you or have them sign documents to remove themselves from the account or close it.
Alternatively, you can take your bank draft and use it to open a new bank account with another bank. In this case, there is no explanation necessary, but you will need to provide more paperwork.
