How do I get mildew out of my leather car seats?
My car has leather seats and I love them. However, after a very humid summer this year, my seats have mildew. How do I get mildew out of my leather seats?

“I am sorry to hear about your leather seats, but don’t worry; this is an easy DIY fix. With a little bit of elbow grease and some patience, your seats should be back to normal.
You are going to want to get the following to prepare:
- Rubbing or isopropyl alcohol
- Water
- A cup to mix in
- Gloves
- Two clean towels
If possible, move your car into a sunny space and make sure it’s well ventilated. Then, put on your gloves because you never know when you’ll discover a new skin allergy. You definitely don’t want to fight mildew and allergies at the same time.
- Mix equal parts water and rubbing alcohol in the cup. This is your cleaning solution.
- Dip the cloth into the solution and rub any spots with mildew. Be mindful of any creases in the leather, as these are especially popular places for mildew and bacteria to grow.
- When finished scrubbing off all the mildew, take your second clean towel and dry off your seat. Again, pay particular attention to creases and seams.
- Let your car air dry before closing the doors and windows.
You should now have freshly cleaned, mildew-free leather seats!
