How do I get crayon out of a car cup holder?

I keep crayons in my car for my kids on longer drives, but it got pretty hot here recently and now my cupholder has some melty crayon soup in it. What’s the easiest way to remove crayon from car plastic?

Luckily, getting crayon out of a car cup holder should actually be pretty easy—you’ll just need it to cool down first.
Crayon wax won’t penetrate plastic. So once the wax hardens, you can scrape it off. If you’re experiencing warmer temperatures, put an ice cube in the cup holder to speed up the cooldown.
After you’ve removed the crayon, consider storing a different writing utensil in your car (like colored pencils) if it’s difficult to
keep your vehicle cool
for now.
And since you’re driving with precious cargo, think about getting a roadside assistance membership for ultimate peace of mind.
Jerry
offers customers a modern roadside assistance membership. Along with traditional benefits like towing and lockout service, you get Uber-like tracking for the status of your service and the ability to contact your service provider directly for as low as $4.16 a month.
