Tire issues can really change the comfort of your ride. To fix tire cupping, you’ll need to identify what caused the issue in the first place.
Tire cupping is an uneven wear pattern on your tire’s treads. This causes your tire to make a noise and drastically decrease ride comfort. Tire cupping is usually caused by wear and tear, poor vehicle alignment, issue with the shocks, or poor tire inflation.
You’ll want to identify which tires are cupped to find out what’s wrong. Be sure to examine your tires on a level surface.
First, push down on the fender about the cupped tire. If the car keeps bouncing after you’ve released it, the issue lies with your shocks. You’ll need to get your shocks repaired or replaced with a mechanic.
If the cupping is on the inside or outside of the front tires’ tread, then the car is misaligned. You’ll need to take your vehicle to a mechanic to get it properly aligned.
While at the repair shop, be sure to have the mechanic balance your tires. Tire imbalance also can cause cupping.
