What is the Tesla Model Y warranty?

I’ve always wanted a Tesla and I think that I’ll finally be able to buy one this year. Could you give me a quick rundown of the warranty that comes with the Model Y?

Warranties are important for any car and especially important for a hybrid or electric vehicle. Lucky for you, the
Model Y
comes with Tesla’s standard warranties including a four-year limited warranty and an eight-year powertrain warranty.
Tesla’s limited warranty, also known as a bumper-to-bumper warranty, covers defective components in your car and lasts for either four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty does not cover components damaged from:
  • Vandalism
  • Misuse
  • Accidents
Tesla also offers a powertrain warranty that applies to the Model Y’s electric engine as well as the battery. You’ll enjoy this warranty for twice the amount of time as the limited warranty: up to eight years or 100,000 miles.
Overall, Tesla’s standard warranties are quite competitive. The limited warranty lasts longer than most manufacturer warranty plans and the powertrain warranty’s eight years of coverage are adequate for an electric vehicle.
Having a warranty is important, but the
most comprehensive way
to protect your car is through auto coverage.
