How do I check my car insurance price?
I’ve had the same insurance for a while. I’m not sure what changed, but my bill has gone up. I want to look into it further. What’s the easiest way to figure out how much you’re paying for insurance?

To check your car insurance price, you can log into your account on your provider’s website, check your email for recent statements, or look for charges on your financial statements (like your bank account).
If you’re able to log in to your provider’s site, look for your
car insurance declaration page
. This should have all of your car insurance information, as well as a breakdown of what you’re paying and why. From there, you may be able to figure out why you’re paying more than you expected.Have you made changes to your policy or submitted a claim within the last year? If so, that could be why
your pricing went up
.Typically, your premium shouldn’t go up until it’s time to renew, but here are some other reasons the pricing may have changed:
- You got divorced or lost a partner
- You added a driver or car
- You moved
- You got a traffic violation
- Your driving record changed
- Your credit score changed
Still stumped? You may need to call your provider to speak with a representative who can help walk you through your policy and bill.
