How do I charge my BMW E90 key?
What are the easiest ways to charge my BMW E90 fob? I’ve never owned a car that had a rechargeable key fob before, so I don’t know what I’m doing.

Instead of manually replacing the battery as you would with a traditional key fob and creating more environmental waste,

allows you to recharge the fob quickly and conveniently. You can charge your BMW E90 key two ways.Method one: Charging the key in the car ignition. You can charge your BMW key battery while you are driving. The makeup of the ignition includes a magnetic coil for charging purposes. To charge your key, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to position 1 or 2. The battery will automatically begin charging.
How much the key is charged is based on how long you drive. The longer you drive, the more your key will charge. For example, if you drive for at least 30 minutes, this charges the key enough to be pressed 15 times.
If your key battery is dead, driving for 30 hours will fully charge it.
Method two: Using a portable, inductive charging pad. If you own a wireless cell phone charger, this gadget can also work as a key charger for your BMW fob. To charge the key, put it on top of the charging pad and let it charge for a few hours or overnight.
Alternatively, you can also try charging the key by putting it on a smartwatch charging station if you have one.
