How do I adjust my Honda Pilot headlights?

Hey there. I’ve been having trouble seeing when I drive at night. I think there’s something wrong with my headlights—they’re working, but they seem too low. Any idea how to adjust Honda Pilot headlights? Thanks.

Driving at night with poorly lit headlights is never a safe bet—we’re glad you reached out.
To adjust your Honda Pilots headlights, you’ll need the following items:
  • Screwdriver
  • Cloth or towel
  • Tape
  • A wall to project the lighting on. The inside of a garage will work great.
Before you begin the adjustment, park your vehicle 15 to 25 feet away from the wall and turn on your dipped beam. Using tape, make a cross-shape in the center of the beam projected on your wall, then turn the ignition off. From there, follow the directions below to adjust your
Honda
Pilot headlights:
  • Open the bonnet and locate the horizontal and vertical adjustment screws for your headlights.
  • Cover the projector you’re not making a correction on with a cloth.
  • Make the horizontal correction by adjusting the screws. The most intense part of the beam should be to the right of the vertical line (of your cross) on the wall.
  • Make the vertical correction by adjusting the screws. The upper end of the beam should be level with the horizontal part of the cross on your wall.
  • Close the bonnet and check to see if the headlights of your Honda Pilot were adjusted correctly.
