How can you mute a Toyota navigation system?

I bought a new Toyota a few days ago. Overall, I love the vehicle. My only complaint is that the navigation system is ridiculously loud and intrusive. Is there a way to mute the navigation system on a Toyota?

Answer
I’m happy to hear you love your new car, and you’ll be glad to know that you can mute a Toyota navigation system with the press of a few buttons.
On the touchscreen display:
  • Go to settings
  • Select navigation settings
  • Locate voice prompts and select mute
Depending on the model and year of your vehicle, you may also be able to mute the navigation system by tapping a small speaker icon located on the navigation screen.
