How can you check your credit score without lowering it?

I’m terrified to check my credit score because I’ve heard that checking it will lower it, but I really want to know how my credit is looking. Is there any way to check my score without making an impact?

While it’s true that performing a hard credit check will lower your credit score, a soft credit pull will allow you to check your credit score without lowering it. There are a few different places that you can look to for this service, including:
  • Your credit card lender
  • Credit Karma
    or a similar service
  • Your bank
  • Credit.com or a similar service
