How can I turn on the heated mirrors in my 2011 Ford Flex?

I just bought a used 2011 Ford Flex today. I was told that it has heated mirrors, but I can’t seem to figure out how to turn them on. How do I turn on the heated mirrors in a Ford Flex?

Great question! Fun features like heated mirrors can really improve the driving experience—but there’s a bit of a learning curve. Luckily, turning on the heated mirrors in your 2011
Ford Flex
 is easy. All you have to do is turn on your rear defrost system then your heated mirrors will come on automatically!
The rear defrost is a system that defrosts your back window. If you haven’t used it before, it’s controlled by a button on the center console. You should see a button with a square icon, three wavy lines pointing up, and the letter R. That’s your rear defrost. Go ahead and turn it on–your heated mirror will come on automatically after that!
