How many batteries are in a typical electric car?

I know electric cars run on battery power. This may be a weird question, but how many batteries are in a typical electric car?

This is a question we get often! Electric cars have two batteries each with their own specific function.
Like traditionally fuelled cars EVs have a lead-acid 12-volt battery which helps to turn the vehicle on as well as power some of the electrical systems and accessories in the vehicle.
The second battery which powers the entire car is what the EV is famous for. The
lithium-ion battery
pack powers the motor which allows the wheels to spin and the car to drive. This is the battery that gas recharged whenever the car is plugged into the charging station.
