How can I clean stains out of my car seats?

Yesterday I spilled some coffee all over my new Lincoln’s leather seats when I hit a large pothole. I pulled over to wipe it up immediately, but today I can still see the stain and even smell the coffee. How can I clean stains out of my car seats?

Cleaning stains out of leather car seats can require a bit more care than regular cloth seats, but can still be done with regular household appliances.
  • Rub some non-gel toothpaste on the stain and begin scrubbing at the stain until it lifts. Wash away the toothpaste with warm water and dish soap.
  • Mix one part vinegar with ten parts hot water and add a few drops of dish soap to the mix. Apply the mixture to the stain with a clean cloth and rub the stain out of the leather.
  • Combine one part Castile soap to five parts warm water in a bucket. Dampen a cloth with the mixture and wipe the stained area. Be careful not to saturate the area too much, you don’t want to damage the leather!
To take extra care of your leather seats, wash and condition them after they’ve fully dried. And to take great care of your finances, consider shopping for car insurance with the
