Does Volkswagen’s warranty cover a battery?
I have a 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan, and somehow, it already has a dead battery. I didn’t leave my lights on or anything, so I think it might just be defective. Does Volkswagen’s warranty cover a battery?

While most automakers don’t include batteries under their factory coverage,
Volkswagen
does cover defective batteries under their three-year/36,000-mile warranty. Of course, you’ll need to bring your
Tiguan
to a dealership service center so they can diagnose the problem, first. But as long as they determine that your dead battery is a defect or the result of poor workmanship—and your car doesn’t have more than 36,000 miles on it—they should replace it at no cost to you.Keep in mind that while your warranty coverage takes care of most mechanical malfunctions due to factory defects, it won’t apply to damage that happens as the result of an accident or normal wear and tear. It also doesn’t cover your car’s tires, since tires have their own warranty from the tire manufacturer.
