Does tire pressure increase when you're driving?

Will my tire pressure go up when I’m driving, or does it stay the same? Sometimes I check my tire pressure after I get home and it seems too high, but I’m not sure how that happens.

Yes, tire pressure does increase when you’re driving! This is because the heat from the friction of the tires against the surface of the road causes the air in your tires to expand, thereby increasing your tire pressure.
If you’re worried that your tires might be overinflated, however, consider letting out some air to see how that affects your tire pressure reading. Overinflated tires can cause uneven wear and make your tires more likely to
burst
, so make sure to always keep the right amount of air in your tires!
