Does tinting Tesla windows void the warranty?
I have a Tesla Y that’s still under warranty. I want to get all my side windows tinted to match the rear window, but should I wait to do this until the warranty expires? Does tinting Tesla windows void the warranty?

You don’t have to sit out your warranty before tinting the windows on your Tesla Model Y . While some modifications might affect specific warranty claims in the future, it would be hard for anyone to make the case that window tinting caused a defect that would otherwise be warranty-covered.
In short, it’s very unlikely that window tinting would impact your warranty at all. However, some things can void your warranty, such as:
- Neglecting routine maintenance services
- Exceeding the vehicle’s weight capacity load limits
- Not making needed repairs promptly
- Defacing your vehicle’s VIN or tampering with its odometer
While vehicle warranties are designed to cover repairs needed for factory defects, they certainly don’t cover everything that could go wrong with your Tesla. Vandalism, collision damage, or cosmetic blemishes caused by weather events would instead be covered by
